Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable
Thanks for the infos :) I will make some 'homework' and I will return with the results. *UPDATE* Well I've made some tests with the same results . Excepts ONE disk from 38 all the others starts loading with freezing at boot...(!) I suspect 64K ram memory problem. I run this MZ80 emulator and tried t...

Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable

Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable
@psmart : Thank you for your infos. .....Check the SFD800 card and the expansion box. Also, the 34pin connector on the SFD800 is in reverse so you have to reverse the cable (ignore the index plastic, force it in), I never understood why this was but duplicated the card as per the original. ... I've ...

Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable
I actually ended up cleaning all the contacts on the edge connectors in the I/O bay and the pins on the MB and everything seems to be working now. I also switched over to the Gotek which works fine too. @arnuphis . Hi,myfriend: I have connected Gotek with psmart SFD800 pcb on my 80B but I cannot ma...

Then I could load MASTER-BOOT (from https://original.sharpmz.org/) from the cassette and use it to format the Gotek and write WAV files loaded from the cassette onto bootable master disks.
...
Is there MASTER-BOOT utility for 80B ?
Thank you

Thank you Parc for this useful infos (and schematic! :D ) I was looking for these many times with no result. I had also examined IPL listing trying to make a 'raw schematic' from the code but I wanted to make sure of a working one. Well done my friend ( Update: I noticed that extra logic needed for ...

Re: MZ-80K where to start to repair
Have you tried sound test:
Type SG (enter) to turn on key sound and test (don;t forget to check the volume in the rear)
if we have sound it is an indication of CPU working ... an maybe the problem is vram

Re: replacement parts for MZ-80K help needed
Hi!
I would suggest first replacing the corrosive ic sockets and then try to clean the pins of the IC.
I suspect your problems maybe solved with these two problems in mind.
Carefully desolder IC socket and replace with new ones. aAlso ,could you provide us of a photo of the corrosive chips(s)?

Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable
Hi dat-alex, If i get to developing the 1773 before you will pass it on. Currently writing VHDL/C for an OSD on my emulator (similar to MiSTer but embedded), most of the emulator core is now functional on the Cyclone IV so once all this is done will turn to the much needed floppy controller. Good l...
