Re: backing up MZ-80 Basic disk
Thanks MZ-80A for comfiming that the adapter works. I re-routed the cable of my adapter (internally) so that the cable exsits at the front RH conner of the adapter allowing the adapter to side in to the cassette unit like a normal tape. Re: WTB: 5.25 Utilty Discs for Sharp MZ-80A
May I suggest that you place the MZ80K versions of SUCopy on to the disk/s if you have them, so that that they can be saved to tape on the MZ80A and reloaded by the MZ80K

Re: backing up MZ-80 Basic disk
If you use a cheap Car Radio Cassette Adapter you can play WAV files direct from PC to your MZ.
See image this one is from Amazon and costs £3.99 but there are cheaper units

Re: backing up MZ-80 Basic disk
You can convert MZF files to WAV files for audio transfer using the link-
https://github.com/rickyelqasem/MZF2WAVGUI
Not tried it myself as I have a Arduino 2560 high speed down loader connected direct to the tape port.

Re: MZ-80a disk options
The IPL loads the boot sector (1) 256 bytes and the IPL header loads sectors 1 and 2 both are 256 bytes, total 512 bytes the IPL header executes code in sector 1 and in sector 2. the rest of the disk is in 512 byte sectors 10 per track numbered 1-10 and 11 to 20 skew 2 ordering. ie. 1,3,2,4,5,6,7,8....
