Sharp MZ

For transferring to laptop I use the software Audacity on my laptop and I have a hi-fi tape deck with a USB soundcard to make the WAV. Then MZFStudio can read the WAV and convert to MZF. If it won't read on the first go I will then split the WAV into left and right channels and try to get MZFStudio...

Should I make a .wav from the cassette first? Or how else can I use the cassette as input to the PC program?
