Is there a way to detect video mode (PAL/NTSC) in software? Except for counting cycles between frames of course.

Difference between MZT and MZF files

What is the difference between these file formats? They appears to be the same to me. E.g. hlide's MZF compressor refuses to accept MZT files, but reads them happily when I rename them to MZF. Same with various emulators, they only accept one of these file suffixes but reads both types after renamin...

Yes, the HBL is used as "master clock" for the timer interrupt, so it's possible to get one interrupt per VBL by dividing the clock by the number of lines per frame. If you time the initialisation of the timer to the VBL signal it should be possible to get a reliable interrupt when the las...
