Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable

Good to know, keep us updated should anything else arise. Always a concern with a new board/components, it worked well for the +hour I tested it in both the MZ-800/MZ-2000 but that is no guarantee especially as the buffer chips around the Z80 degrade over time and the timing goes a little awry (whic...

Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable

Hi, I dont have the HxC with me today so will need to check tomorrow but could it be RF interference from the monitor (ie. where the HxC is sat?). I dont think I did anything special with the HxC other than convert the images found on original.sharpmz.org (the zip file of 37+ disks) and converted th...

Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable

Hi dat-alex, If i get to developing the 1773 before you will pass it on. Currently writing VHDL/C for an OSD on my emulator (similar to MiSTer but embedded), most of the emulator core is now functional on the Cyclone IV so once all this is done will turn to the much needed floppy controller. Please ...

Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable

All working, it wasn't the crystal per-se, slightly different crystal spec (it was bought from RS not Ebay!!!!) and needed the bias adjusting (R1/R2) and now ticks happily at 16MHz. I put together the BOM which can be found here: https://eaw.app/Downloads/SFD800.xlsx Total cost of parts is GBP26.98 ...

Re: MZ-80b FI/O to HxC Cable

Just an update on the new board. PCB's received and first sample built (below). Powered up and it seeks the drive but always ends up with a loading error (screen below). I set about analysing the original board and the new board and found the XTAL circuit on the new board was outputting 8MHz when it...

Re: MZ-700 Blank Key.

Thanks, sadly the link returns PHP error, bad file/directory permissions or invalid site software configuration Just made some analysis on the original.sharpmz.org website. Seems there is an incorrect setup or transfer to a case sensitive filesystem. Most of the files are stored as lower case yet t...

Re: MZ-700 Blank Key.

Just rechecked the circuit and the attribute ram is driven by IC AD (74LS245) and the video by IC8D so this could be a potential candidate. Your screen output is white on blue so the attribute ram must be getting written to under software control.
