Re: Introduction

Hi and welcome, Good to see someone else using these classic machines. I have an MZ80B with the SB5510 tape but no idea how to copy it, on the MZ80A and MZ700 it is easy as the BASIC has a built in copier. Im more than happy to make a copy and post it if anyone could advise how. Alternatively if you...

Re: Introduction

Hi Ralph, Firstly, welcome, I owned an MZ-80A in 1983 and an MZ-700 around 1985 but then time kind of morphed and picked it all up again in 2018! One of the biggest problems with older machines is getting software onto them. We are so used to click and run these days that sourcing a tape and waiting...

Re: Sharp MZ Hardware Emulator on MiSTer

Thank-you, I took a look and seems though a lot of the links to sharpmz.org no longer work. The genuine ROM remains onboard and the machine works in it's original form unless a file TZFSBOOT.FLG exists in the root of the SD CARD. TZFS (RFS rewritten for the tranZPUterSW) is loaded into the tranZPUte...

Re: Sharp MZ Hardware Emulator on MiSTer

@psmart. Seems the Atari forums is kinda dead. Sorelig creates a dedicated forum to MiSTer: https://misterfpga.org/ I tried the Atari forum 2 years ago but haven't really been back, Sorgelig will be getting quite a bit of attention from the MiSTer so I guess it's natural he created his own forum. I...

Re: Sharp MZ Hardware Emulator on MiSTer

:) - Unless your a meticulous character, a lot of the time you react on automated memory response, the wires were yellow and black, PC for 12V, hence hooking up 12V! Something of interest though, I have advanced the tranZPUter SW (https://eaw.app/sharpmz-upgrades-tranzputer-sw/) quite a bit and it f...

Re: Color GAL5, color board for MZ80KC/1200

The machine was standard from memory, no different to the one I have now, green screen exactly the same. If you look at this link (on Chrome with translate) you will see the Japanese MZ1200 and the MZ80A both had the intention by Sharp to have colour, Ohishi made a colour card to fit in the space wh...

Re: Sharp MZ Hardware Emulator on MiSTer

Thank-you, that is appreciated. I have come to the conclusion it is best to separate out the emulators for MiSTer with them sharing a common hdl code base, preserving a combined emulator if possible (for my own use). I'll look into doing it for the next release on MiSTer before completing the embedd...

Re: Sharp MZ Hardware Emulator on MiSTer

Hi, yep that is the plan - small steps though, Im currently working on the tranZPUter SW which uses the K64F CPU controlling the real SharpMZ80a hardware. Code written and knowledge gathered will go into the ZPU on the emulator. I've put the ZPU into the emulator already and slowly advancing it's fu...
