Re: Can my MZ700 go up in Magic Smoke twice?
Open it and take shots and post them here if you cannot determine what the culprit is:
1) the motherboard.
2) the inners of PSU.

Re: How to type in programs on SP-2005 program?
I think I have the Language Machine manual somewhere but I cannot figure where. And it doesn't seem to be on the internet.

Re: Making a basic text adventure.
In which programming langage is "Evil Star"?
"Evil Star"? I recall having read something about it as a text game on MZ. Something which contains some Star Wars similarities.

Re: Can my MZ80K set fire?
My first MZ-80 K did make a bang then smoke. But it didn't take fire. The MZ-700 I bought under one year ago has the "famous" X2 capacity exploded (it was already this way before I bought it). Whenever I powered it, I found it smelled too much so I decided to have a look at it. And I made ...

Re: MZ-80B Power Supply Repair
I would love to have both MZ-80A and B but I guess the prices won't be cheap. And damn I start lacking places to put my retro-computers :/.

Re: MZ-80B Power Supply Repair
I am beginning to wonder if it might be the monitor ROM (EPROM?) at fault. It looks like VRAM is fine as the display is perfect. I just cannot understand what else might stop the monitor program completing its loading as I assume the memory test is in ROM? ROM needs a small RAM space (0x1000-0x11FF...

Re: MZ-80B Power Supply Repair
For the program to be loaded, I suppose you got it recorded on a tape. If not and you have an MZ-700 with a working tape recorder, there is a way: enter the bytes with M command and save them with S command in a tape. Then you should be able to play it on MZ-80 K. There is a small complication: if y...

Re: MZ-80B Power Supply Repair
I made a program RAMTEST to determine which row and which chip has an issue: the program is loaded into VRAM (so you'll see some weird characters at first lines) and will check some patterns (D0 chip: 01 - D1 chip: 02 - D2 chip: 04 - D3 chip: 08 - D4 chip: 10 - D5 chip: 20 - D6 chip: 40 - D7 chip: 8...
