1) Retrieve IPL.ROM in Assets of the last release : https://github.com/SHARPENTIERS/MZ-80K- ... r/releases. Just click on IPL.ROM to donwload it.

2) Burn the IPL.ROM image on a 4KB (E)EPROM.

3) Plug this (E)EPROM in the M-ROM socket after removing the M-ROM chip.

4) Launch the MZ-80 K and it will start the program. The first screen will be garbage to tell you the screen is okay and displays.

5) Then a "PacMan" intro displays and waits for you to press [SP] to start the four tests.

6) The first three tests are fast and the last one is slow. For each DRAM chips numbered from #1 to #24, there are 4 pills or crosses to tell the result for each tests. A pill means successful and a cross means a failure on the chip. On the motherboard, you have three rows (they are showed as columns I, II and III on the program). Each row has 8 chips.

7) Once you write down the chips having a cross at least, you switch off the MZ-80 K to replace the defective chips by new chips then you jump to step 4 back.

8) Congrats! all the chips are working. You can now put the original M-ROM back in its socket.

I didn't test myself but it was successfully tested by Ben Koffer on his MZ-80 A and by a Japanese beta-tester who owns several K models: K, C, K2 and K2E.

If you don't have 2332, you'll need an adapter 2332->2732 and a TL866ii plus as a programmer.

One link for an assembled one for instance : https://www.sellmyretro.com/offer/details/36272. For the same seller, you can also get a DYI kit instead.
