Can my MZ80K set fire?

Can my MZ80K set fire? It didn't do it when I turned it on for the first time in around 30 years but even after one year I just put a program on a fresh untouched cassette tape and I am worried that after one year of no use, my 80K could pop and smoke or even set fire to my house! My MZ700 popped and smoked so I'm anxious that my other Sharp machine will do the same.
(PS: if you want some backstory, I got a lot of cassettes from my grandad and a few books before getting my 80K and a few weeks later, a 700. My dad used to use the 80K and 700.)
